how did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
due to lack of communication within our group and timing of out ancillary tasks due in caused complication when producing the media tasks.
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Genre characteristics
(e.g. stage performance in metal video, dance routine for boy/girl band)
My Research
Most R&B Music videos contain performance. My research finds most Dance routines or choreography at some part of the music video.

Your Production – Use, Develop or Challenge
We amplified our relationship between the lyrics and visuals this is because we thought this would be most effective as our video is performance/ narrative so the audience can gain information of the narrative though the lyrics.
Relationship between music and visuals
(either illustrative, amplifying, contradicting).
My research
Again its either illustrative or amplifying depending on the sub genre of the R&B video e.g. Beyonce single ladies or Kanye west Work out.
My production
Our relationship between the music and visuals is illustrative and goes with the editing and the rhythm or the music. For example we editing our video with the same cutting rate to the rhythm of the song this helps the narrative of the video as it is going on at the same time.
Demands of the record label
will include the need for lots of close ups of the artist and the artist may develop motifs which recur across their work. (a visual style).
My Research
Selling the image of the artist so not only selling the music but also image such as fashion, beauty and personality.
My Production
We used this idea of selling the artist aswell as the music but using performance and a lot of close ups we let the audience see the artist at a close up so they get familiar with our artist an she gains recognition which could gin her to get more work apart from music.
We created this image by putting her in glamourous clothes and loactions and using a numourous amount of close up and extreame closes ups of her face and fashionable items.
Notions of looking
(screens within screens, telescopes, etc) and particularly voyeuristic treatment of the female body.
My Research
Voyeuristic of the female body is a common conventions of R&B videos. This sells the image of the artist and audience views the video though the male glaze
M
y production
We used these conventions in our video as we used many close up of the female body because this helps with our narrative of our film of a romantic r&b genre. Also this helped us sell the image of the artist.
intertextual reference
(to films, TV programmes, other music videos etc.)
My Research
With movies of love scenes, and relating music videos from the genre but also the same artist.
My Production
We imitated other artist’s video such as beyonce. This is because the target audience will be familiar with these conventions so hopefully form a bond with our artist as similar to main r&b artists.
Conventions we didn't follow was:
we didn't use dance or choreography as it wasn't suitable
we didn't change costumes as our video was not set episodically
We used common conventions to form our other media products.
